Blue Martini in Scottsdale - Happening Happy Hour

Head on up to City North in Scottsdale and visit the Blue Martini. Friday night is a great night, happy hour is packed from 4pm - 9pm. It gets a good crowd of young and older (not old) that are there to eat, drink, and mingle.

The food is a top shelf heavy appetizer menu that features such items as delicious lobster tacos and pork chops. The happy hour specials are also first class with half price drinks and food.

At 9pm a DJ arrives and the floor in front of the main bar turns into a dance floor. This place keeps going till closing time.

Friday and Saturday nights are the top nights to see and be seen. However, the Wednesday "Ladies Night" is taking off quickly, and sure to be a steady place to spend your hump day.

Take it from Scottsdale Events, if you haven't yet made your way to the Blue Martini Scottsdale at City North, get there soon and have a great time.

Swanky Club Six Closes in Scottsdale

The uber hip club Six has closed it's doors in Scottsdale. Probably the first ultra sheik lounge that opened in Old Town in 2001 one has come to an end. It was trendy and the place to be seen for the Scottsdale socialites for many years.

From the ice top bar to keep your drinks cool while you chill, to the self smoking doors of the unisex bathrooms, Six was the place to see and be seen for many years. It started a trend of ultra cool lounges in Scottsdale that might have been it's own undoing.

Due to both the tough economic times and increasing competition, Six lounge had to shutter it's doors. Apparently failing to make the rent payments. The bars popularity had been on the down turn for some time, and failed to garner any high profile events for the Superbowl or NBA all star game, losing ground to the newer and hipper venues like the the W.

Memorial Day Events In Scottsdale

Memorial Day is upon us once again and there will be many Scottsdale Events to attend. You can do many different things from Bar-B-Q, hang out with friends, go to the local bars and clubs, head out to the lakes, or an old favorite tubing down the Salt River. What ever you choose you should make sure that you don't just have a fun, but also a safe Memorial Day weekend.

Tubing down the Salt River is an time honored tradition as the summer rolls into the valley of the sun. It is one Scottsdale event that everyone should do at least once. You get a group of friends together and head out to the Salt River early in the morning. You rent a tube, grab your cooler of beer and snacks and head out. The current in the river is usually pretty tame, so you have a nice leisurely drift down the river while catching a buzz. Make sure you have a designated driver, because a DUI is nothing to take lightly.

Make sure and bring plenty of sunblock as the Arizona sun is quite powerful this time of year, and temperatures can get to the 100 degree mark by noon. There has been more than one person that has come back from a tubing trip with a nasty sunburn that has taken them out of action for a week.

If tubing down the river isn't for you, there are plenty of other things to do. There are lots of bars and clubs that will be putting on events this weekend. You can go to the Blue Martini, Devil's Martini, or Barcelona in North Scottsdale. If you are headed out to old town there will be great specials at Dos Gringos and many other bars in the Old Town area.

My personal favorite way to spend the Memorial Day weekend is to grill out with some good friends. Take a dip in the pool, grab a burger, have a few cold ones and relax. It reminds me of growing up as a kid in the east coast. Memorial Day weekend was the kick off to the summer, and it was best spent sharing food and drink with friends.

Whatever you do this weekend, make sure that you do it safe. Don't overeat and don't drink and drive. Life is short enough as it is, don't make it any shorter.

Enjoy the weekend and the weather, and check back soon to find more Scottsdale events.

The Best Places For Cinco de Mayo in Scottsdale

Well Cinco de Mayo is almost here, and it is a big event in the Valley. The weather looks like it is once again going to be another great day to get out and celebrate. Thought I would provide a list of the best places to go for Cinco de Mayo in Scottsdale.

Dos Gringo's
A staple in Old Town since I can remember. Attracts a younger crowd but sure to be hopping. Food, Sun, and Cervesa's

The flag ship bar. Live Music, Island Bars, OutDoor Grills, cheap food and beer. They are extending the party into the parking lot to make room for all the Cinco de Mayo revelers. You get a free ride on the party bus if you want to check out what is happening at the North Scottsdale venue.
